The visitor poem commentary

That unused piano gets used to life as the hands glide over the slow keys ringing changes finer that the eye can see. On the surface it is a poem about a piano tuner, probably the visitor inferred in the title, but it is also a poem about music and the effect that it can have on life and our surroundings.

So Like a longed shelved relationship he hesitates at first, but once the familiar touch of the keyboard Is there his hands glide with the comfort of acquaintance. This makes the reader now believe that if one is committed and dedicated to his work he finds equal pleasure In It.

The piano tuner as a visitor leaves a lasting impression not only on the poet and his wife, but also the readers as well. The inclusion of various types of expression, such as dialogue, description, and listing, combined with the meticulous selection of words create a dynamic poem of numerous layers.
